Day 162 - The Wonder Lab Trip That Almost Wasn't
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
When we left the house this morning, little did we know we'd almost be heading back home sooner than expected. There are two main routes to get to Jeff's work (which is an hour and a half away). While we don't exactly live in "the hollers'" as Jeff's family would say, we don't exactly live in a major suburbia, either. Anyway, one of the ways has been closed for a couple of months due to road work. The other way way, we found out this morning, was closed due to flooding. Fortunately, we had our handy dandy TomTom. (or our "Way Provider" as Nick lovingly refers to it) After trying about 4-5 alternative routes, we finally found a way to cross the river.
Once we had arrived at the Wonder Lab (a local hands-on science center/museum), we had a good time with our friends, Gracie, Josh, Thomas, & Ross. The Wonder Lab was followed by lunch at the Trojan Horse Greek restaurant, where the food was just as mediocre as I had remembered it to be. Oh well, I love Greek food, so even the worst Greek is better than fast food! After lunch we all hung out at Darla's house where the mom's could talk and the kids could play.

I hope you all haven't had any trouble personally with all the flooding. Crazy summer, huh?
