Day 9 - A Rare Treat

Jeff came home last night bearing gifts. He bought a surprise cake to celebrate Nick's first official day of reading lessons. He also bought soft drinks, which is something we rarely buy unless we have company. (What can I say? I'm a cheapskate.... tea is cheaper!)
Rachael was sick last night and all day today. Unfortunately, that left our school schedule by the wayside on day 3. On the plus side, I did get a lot of cleaning finished!
My weakness is Diet Coke. I am trying to cut back this year . . .our church is getting ready to start a 21 day fast . . .that is one thing I am going to fast.
My kids don't really know it yet, but pop at our house is ceasing to exist. The only thing I'm buying now is called Jones (maybe?) and has real cane sugar, no fructose, no diet. But I'm buying one 8-pack a week. They keep wondering WHY we're out of pop, but it hasn't dawned on them yet.
