Day 177 - Pizza & RV
Thursday, June 26, 2008
We have no food. I didn't want to buy a bunch of stuff only to have it spoil while we were out of town for a week. Therefore, tonight was pizza night! We ordered pizza & soft drinks (we usually don't buy soda unless we go out to eat, but drink tea instead) We had recorded the movie RV on our DVR. We've seen it before, but it's become a family favorite. I love the part when the Gornicke's tell the Munro's that they are homeschoolers. It's the same reaction that I've gotten a few times. Later in the movie, when the daughter is talking to the homeschooled boy, and says, "You mean you're SMART?!?!?!"... that part cracks me up, too! I know that some people find some of the humor a little objectionable, but we enjoy it!
That is one of our favorite movies, too!!! The first time we saw it was in a big movie theater while we were all on vacation (along with my parents) in our campers. It was a rainy day so we went to the movie to see RV. The funny thing was that a good majority of the people attending the movie that day were all campers/RV'ers and it was hysterical sitting there in that big group laughing at the movie. Some a little too close to home! :) (Mom always taught me "don't ever learn how to dump the black tank"..... because then you'll have to do it!) :) :)
And yes, at first I thought "oh great - another homeschooler stereotype".... but it turned out that THEY were the "normal" family.... full of love. Great movie!
