Day 253 - Cemeteries
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Yes, I am a morbid parent. Today, Heather and I met at the courthouse and took the kids to play in a couple of cemeteries. The original plan was for them to take pictures of interesting things. That lasted for about 10 minutes, and the rest of the time was spent running and playing in the open spaces. The first cemetery that we went to was a really old cemetery with some cool monuments. Rachael found a snake skin near a big tree. The second cemetery was one that I actually used to play in as a kid. We lived right next to it, and it was a relaxing, peaceful place to ride your bike (no traffic!) and walk.
Doesn't sound morbid to me. Sounds like another lovely day out! I guess you told your kids already that many people use to walk and picnic in old cemeteries in urban area of New England? Kinda the precursor to the modern city parks back when. :))
