Day 311 - Hasty Pudding
Friday, November 07, 2008

Today wrapped up our election class. We discussed the results and ramifications of both the elected parties and ballot initiatives throughout the country. In geography, the kids sampled New England foods, including: Hasty pudding (something that I had never heard of, but is apparently mentioned in the song "Yankee Doodle") sardines, Boston Baked Beans, real maple syrup, and cranberry juice.

The kids and I made some hasty pudding earlier this year to go along with our Little House books...it was fun to make but really, REALLY gross!!!
We made the "original" recipe straight from the Little House Cookbook...yuck! But an experience nonetheless!
