Day 347 - Christmas Recital
Monday, December 22, 2008

Today was Rachael's piano recital. Since the keyboard was one of the first items that we packed up, I was concerned about her preparedness. She's practiced like crazy this past couple of days, and performed wonderfully! After the recital, we went out to eat with Diana, Andy, & Ross. (Thomas was staying with his grandma.)

On a separate note, her friend, Gracie, had appendicitis and had to have her appendix removed this evening. We missed her at the recital, but are happy to report that she's doing well.

(I apologize for the shaky camera work. Nick was hanging on my arm!)

Day 183 - Piano, Physics, & Wall-E
Thursday, July 03, 2008

Melissa (Rachael's piano teacher) and her youngest son, Dylan

Today was another Bloomington day. Rachael had a physics class and a piano lesson. We also went with three other families to see the movie "Wall-e." It was a fabulous movie! In general, I love Pixar films. I'm not a big fan of cartoons, but Pixar films tend to have better storylines and the computer animation is spectacular!

Day 58 - Co-op & Piano
Monday, March 03, 2008

Wednesday is co-op day and piano lessons. Since we have to travel so far on co-op days, we try to fit Dr. appts. in on that day, too. In co-op, we studied Degas in Art History and they watched a movie in Marine Biology. Rachael had a Dr. appt. She ended up having to get 3 shots... chicken pox, tetanus, & Hep. A. They also suggested the HPV vaccine which I denied. I'm just not comfortable giving her a brand new vaccine which only prevents a sexually transmitted virus.

On a more positive note. These are Rachael's piano books. I LOVE the way that she learns technique & theory along with her lessons & performance pieces.
